Job Purpose:

To oversee day-to-day operations of greenhouse production, ensuring optimal plant health, quality, and yield, while maintaining a clean and efficient working environment. The Greenhouse Supervisor will manage labour teams, monitor crop performance, and ensure compliance with cultivation protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Crop Production & Maintenance

• Supervise the cultivation of flowers and plants from propagation to harvesting.

• Monitor plant health and implement pest/disease management protocols (IPM).

• Manage fertigation, irrigation schedules, pruning, pinching, and spacing activities.

• Maintain records of planting schedules, input applications, and crop cycles.

2. Team Management

• Lead and coordinate greenhouse workers and seasonal labourers.

• Plan daily tasks and assign responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow.

• Provide on-the-job training for staff on crop care techniques and safety protocols.

3. Greenhouse Operations

• Maintain optimal growing conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation, light) using climate control systems.

• Ensure hygiene and sanitation standards are followed to prevent contamination.

• Monitor inventory of tools, fertilizers, seeds, chemicals, and request replenishments as needed.

4. Quality Control & Reporting

• Monitor and document crop growth stages and deviations.

• Coordinate with the Quality Control team to meet export and domestic quality standards.

• Submit regular reports on production status, issues, and labour performance.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with company SOPs, agricultural standards, and local environmental regulations.

• Promote safe working practices and address any safety concerns promptly.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Floriculture.

• 3–5 years of experience in greenhouse/floriculture operations.

• Knowledge of modern greenhouse practices and climate control systems.

• Experience in flower crops like roses, or exotic varieties preferred.

Skills Required:

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Understanding of plant physiology, nutrition, and pest / disease management.

• Good communication and documentation abilities.

• Problem-solving attitude and attention to detail.

• Basic computer literacy (Excel, record-keeping software, etc.).
